Employee cards: Tax Table changes to update ATO?

Hi Team,

We got a staff started as  Working Holiday Maker and now he is holding a permanent residency visa.

We changed his tax table from Working Holiday Maker to Tax Free Threshold  in MYOB before EOFY 2122, but the staff still been informed by ATO that his tax return cannot be finalised due the "Working Holiday Maker" provided to ATO initially ...

Already update his new tax table as Tax Free Threshold in MYOB, how to inform ATO about this changes?

Thanks,
JTan

    Hi

Have you sent in a new tax file declaration for the employee  to ATO?

      Hi Lisa,

Yes, we did that 3 weeks ago around 2nd Aug.

And the staff got a reply from ATO via his mygov on 16/8:

asking the employer (us) to update this (tax free threshold) in which we have already done so!

Please kindly advise if there is another way to get this resolved.

      Thanks,

      JTan

Was the employee still a Working holiday makeras at 30/6/22?

Did you pay him as a resident prior to end of 30/6/22?

If the residency status was still WHM then i think you will need to change the tax back to WHM, remove the finalisation, do a zero pay for them as at 30/06/22 to update ATO  and refinalise employee

Change the tax back after completion

You say that the TFD was sent in around Aug 2 which indicates that the change was after EOFY ( or so the ATO would assume)

        hope this is useful
