not finding records in Exporting Contacts from AccountRight 2017

trying to export Employee Cards from AccountRight 2017 and constantly getting the error "no records match your search".  Have tried both with and without an Identifier to limit to the current cards, also tried Add All versus selecting individual fields plus tab versus commas and receiving the same error every time.  The file contains multiple employee cards, happy to export them all and edit in excel but would prefer to limit to the current cards to import straight into another AccountRight 2017 file.  Any suggestions please?

Hi @SusannaD, can you attach a jpg screenshots of your selections?

 

One point to bear in mind is that if you get an error when exporting or importing, you should close the wizard and start again, as not doing so will retain the errors or cause other errors.

Hi Mike,  

 
thanks for your help.   Attached are the screen pics.  I have quit from the Import/Export Assistant and gone back to it a few times.
 
The screen pics show one of the latest attempts - I tried with the identifier as a first attempt and chose all available fields.  When that didn’t work I quit the Assistant and came back to try without an Identifier but had the same error.   We have 16 Active employee cards and 44 including inactive in this file so there has to be something to find?
 
Also I rechecked the version we are using, it’s actually V 2016.3.19.1272.

Hi @SusannaD, do your employee cards have "AT" as an identifier, or do some have "A" and some have "T"? If the latter, specifying "AT" will give the error.

Hi Mike,  the identifier "AT" is consistent across the 10 records I would like to export.   If I try to export without specifying an identifier it still has the same error and doesn't find any records.   Surely without an identifier specified and all fields selected it should find all records in the file?

Hi @SusannaD, I agree, on the face of it you should be able to export all cards. I've tested a similar export in a 2017.1 file, which works correctly, so I'm unsure what else to suggest except an upgrade.

Hi @SusannaD,

 

It's very odd that no cards are exported when there are employee cards in the company file. 

 

Just to confirm, if you choose to export all employee cards - use no identifiers - default format, add all fields, choose a location to save the exported file, do you get the following message?

I'm also wondering if you try exporting employee cards from one of the sample company files Clearwater, does it export fine?
