This is a difficult one to explain but we use random weight items, but customers order in whole numbers.

Eg. THey want four hams, which we enter in the order then on the pick slip we flag the item as one that needs to come back with a weight.

Once the item is picked, we update the order with the weight and then invoice out the goods. When we enter purhcases we book the stock in as whole weights because that is how we are charged.

It meanst that the inventory analysis doesn't work for any of our goods though.

It would be really good to be able to enter in how many are ordered and how many are purchased, AND the weight value.

Im sure we are not the only company that deals with weights and lengths. It must apply to many businesses having the same problem.

"Option to enter inventory of whole items(eg 1 ham not 3.5 kg of ham)  so that inventory reports a more useful"

We have the same problem, weights of product and the number of product, cannot put both in the same line of an invoice. Frustrating to track the amount of weight and number of units at the same time and work out average selling prices etc. there should be an option for a second unit of measurement of each invoice line to record these amounts.

I'm having this exact same problem now.
Having the amount of items would also help with deliveries also. We could check off the items as we unload.
I either hand write them on each invoice or add a line/ edit the description per different item
