Select purchases by account name not working

The Preferences setting "Select and Display Account Name, not Account Number" does not work for all our users.  However there is no option to set this per user.  The setting is ticked, and works for most users in our file, but not all.  Most users see "Account Name" when entering purchases, but one user persistently sees only "Acocunt No" which is very difficult to use if you're looking for an account name e.g. Postage.

The software version is the same for everyone, and in any case the issue happens regardless of computer being used.  Please help, thanks!

The Select and Display Account Name, Not Account Number preference in Setup>>Preferences>>Windows is a user-defined preference. This is opposed to a system-wide preference like the security preference: Transactions Can't be Changed; They Must be Reversed. As it's a user-defined preference some users can have it enabled while others don't have it.

If a user does need that preference enabled for their user ID they would need to go to Setup>>Preferences>>Windows and enable that preference.

Note: Depending on their user ID access they may not have access to that Preferences window to make the change. As such, you would need to go grant them that access through the Setup>>User Access window either by updating their role to be Accountant/bookkeeper or enabling that access for their role through the Manage Roles section. Once they have enabled that preference that access can be revoked if not required.
