Can't change Account on a Closed Bill

Hi,

 

So I payed a bill and just realise I put the wrong account in it.

I tried to delete the payment but I got a message tha say I can't delete it.

 

 

Can someone help me?

Welcome to the MYOB Community Forum, I hope you find it a wealth of knowledge

 

Provided that Setup>>Preferences>>Security>> "Transactions can't be changed they must be reversed" is not ticked and that the transaction occurs in the current financial year you should be able to change the account on a closed bill.

 

I would recommend checking that preference and ensuring that the transaction has been recorded in the current financial year. If you are still unable to change that account on the closed bill, you mentioned that you attempted to delete the payment and received a message - can you provide the exact wording on that particular message?

Here is the message I got:

 

"A purchase with payments applied may not be deleted".

That particular message will generally mean that the payment was placed when the purchase was an order and it has since been converted across a bill.


Help Article: Supplier deposits will be able to go through the process of dealing that that purchase as it now is unable to be deleted. The process is to reverse out the bill to generate a debit note to which you can receive a refund on to cancel out what has occurred so you can redo the process correctly.

Hi @Simo83, rather than go through the complex reversal procedure, you could record a simple general journal to debit the correct account and credit the incorrect account. No GST is involved provided both accounts are treated the same for GST.
