Payroll bank file glitch

Hi, there appears to be a glitch in our MYOB when I generate an ABA file. I cannot generate one with more than 30 employees at a time. We have approx. 100 staff so each week I have to create 4 separate bank files otherwise the program just freezes and kicks me out.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Danielle

Re: Payroll bank file glitch

Hello @PerspectiveR

Welcome to the MYOB Community Forum, I hope you find this a helpful channel of support that answers your queries.

I am very sorry to hear you are having these issues with your payroll ABA file.

I just need to clarify a few things please. What version of the software are you using? You can find this out by going Help>>About AccountRight. Is your file off line or online? When did that start happening? Have you been able to do this in the past without any issues?

Looking forward to your reply so I can further assist you.

Kind regards,

Kat

Re: Payroll bank file glitch

Hi Kat,

Thanks for your reply.

It started happening some months ago and has been extremely frustrating.

It is MYOB Account Right Plus AU version 2014.4.16.7861

Thanks,

Danielle

Re: Payroll bank file glitch

Hello @PerspectiveR

Thank you for the updates and answers to my questions, I can see how frustrating this will be every pay day.

AccountRight does not have a limit on the amount of payments in your ABA file, however some banks do have a limit. This varies depending on the bank you are with.

Do you get any error messages when creating the ABA file? What happens when you try to record more than 30 transactions? If you do get an error can you screen shot this and upload it with your next post? This will help trouble shoot from our end.

Kind regards,

Kat

Re: Payroll bank file glitch

Hi Kat,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I have found one of the error emails that was sent to Myob back in August. I'm pretty sure it relates to this payroll issue.

I'm now also getting the MYOB error message "Something's gone wrong and Account Right needs to close" every time I go in to email or print the staff's payslips.

I have attached the errors.

Thanks,

Danielle

Re: Payroll bank file glitch

Hello @PerspectiveR

Thank you for the update.

Looking at these error logs it is all pointing to permissions, are you running over a server? How do you log into the file on a daily basis?

I would like to try to upgrade a backup file of yours to the 2015.1 version, I will private message you the server addition to install.

Can you please install this version when you are logged into the windows computer as Administrator? This version will not replace your existing version, 2015.1 will run alongside 2014 without touching your live file.

Can you go through your 2014 version and create a backup File>>Back up then open the 2015.1>>Open a Sample Company file>>AU>>2015.1>>Plus>> Administrator and no Password>>File>>Restore>>Browse for your backup>>Restore>>Follow Upgrade Prompts.

Can you please try to print/email the payslips does the same error happen? Can you please check the ABA files and see if you can create more than 30 transactions?

Looking forward to your update.

Kind regards,

Kat

Re: Payroll bank file glitch

Hi Kat,

Yes, MYOB is on the server. Will I the save the new version of MYOB on my computer? Or the computer that is linked with the server?

Thanks!

Danielle :-)

Re: Payroll bank file glitch

Hello @PerspectiveR

Can you please install the link I have messaged to your computer? This way when you restore and upgrade the backup the file is running locally on your computer not over the server.

Kind regards,

Kat

Re: Payroll bank file glitch

Hi Kat,

Today has been the first day I have tried uploading one bank file for 92 staff in one go. I had only managed to upload to the new MYOB last week.

It seems to work - hooray!

Thanks so much for your help.

Regards,

Danielle
