Re: Change accounting Period

@Mummu

Do you have any need to do so is the question?

The 13th period is a software invention and is the domain of the accountant to put in his adjustments so that they do not appear on many of the reports. It has its good and bad points, but for the day to day operation of the business is meaningless.

If you really feel the need to change it you will need to wait until the next time your file is due for a rollover of the financial year where you will be able to select the number of periods.

Re: Change accounting Period

Hi @Mummu

Welcome to the MYOB Community Forum, I hope you find it a wealth of knowledge

Unlike the AccountRight Classic (v19) company files, all AccountRight 2017 company files do have thirteen accounting periods. The program will no longer have the option for twelve accounting periods.

If you are not requiring thirteen accounting periods then that is fine, the file would still be set up with thirteen. Just ensure that when going to Accounts>>Record Journal Entry, that the option "Year-End Adjustment" is not ticked and the thirteenth period will not be used.
