Invalid Date error

I keep getting an error -10 invalid date on my import.

I have tried to identify any issues but it looks ok to me.

I have checked Retail manager and the info is correct in there.

Not sure if there is an error with the txt file?

I have attached so you can check it and let me know

Re: Invalid Date error

Hi @chris15

Welcome to the MYOB Community Forum, I hope you find it a great resource.

The most common cause of an invalid date error is that the RetailManager file sits on a different computer to the AccountRight file, and the two different computers have different date format settings. This includes if your AccountRight file is stored on the cloud.

The best way to stop that error occurring is to have both the RetailManager and AccountRight files local on the one machine, so they will both pick up the same regional and date format settings on the one machine. For online AccountRight files, this will mean that you have to check the file out by going to File >> Check Out.

Do let us know you get on with this,

Re: Invalid Date error

@Neil_M

Thanks, I will try checking out the file and see if that solves the issue.

The accountright file is stored online but RM is on LAN.

Re: Invalid Date error

@Neil_M that worked, once the file was offline it worked no worries.

Was strange that some items processed and some didn't though.

Thanks for the help!

Re: Invalid Date error

Hi @Neil_M

this is the exact issue we are having also, however, the difference is the data for MYOB accountright 2017.1SE and Retailmanager are on the same server - when we installed  Accountright the server did have a different date format - we then removed the installation completely - fixed the date issue - restarted the server - installed again and the same issue occurred.

From here we removed MYOB once more - went through and removed various files and folders relating to the previous installation - redownloaded the install file for MY.MYOB and tried again. We still have the same problem.

i thought i would try to move the database to a local machine - set the data location then try importing the same file and it worked straight away with no issue.

ive checked the date/time/region/country etc and they are identical across both machines

we import data twice a day as we maintain accounts for 2 separate companies across 2 different sites

is there something we are missing? we called MYOB tech support and had a specialist log into our server - they couldnt work it out - we've spent 4hours on the phone so far so any help would be absolutely amazing!

Re: Invalid Date error

HI @Loxi

Welcome to the MYOB Community Forum, I hope you find it a wealth of helpful information.

The first thing I’d be checking would be to export out some sort of transactional information out of AccountRight. This file will contain all of the date information of those transactions, specifically the formatting of those dates. This can then be compared to the date format in the retail.txt file to see if they are an identical format.

To avoid confusion, I’d recommend exporting out transactional information from later in the month. Anything after the 13th of the month would be ideal so you can tell at a glance the format of month and day for comparison purposes. If the date format was in some way different, this could throw that import error message.
