TPAR for prior years

I only turned on the Taxable Payments Annual Report feature today.

I am in the Building & Construction Industry and should have been submitting this report in past financial years. I can prepare the report for YE June 2017 as not yet closed off the financial year, but cannot prepare the report for prior years. If I review non-reportable transactions from prior years I see that the data is still there, it obviously is just flagged as non-reportable. How do i go back and matching the Supplier Card (now reportable) to prior year transactions? I need to run the TPAR report for YE June 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Kind regards

Mat

Matt,

I understand the ATO would on request send paper-based TPAR for the outstanding years.

Re: TPAR for prior years

THey have requested but doing  paper based return is extremely time consuming and why I am trying to run the MYOB report. Anyone else out there with some ideas?

I would assume you have kept backups of each year prior to doing the End of Year roll over.

Simply Restore these backups but only to your desktop NOT online.

Go through and setup each year then run your reports, print them out as well as save the electronic report.

Once you have done them just delete the restored file.

Not sure on how to Restore a file here is the Support Notes;

Re: TPAR for prior years

Unfortunately no back ups, didnt realise that default back up was referencing date not year so inadvertantly saved over the old files. A error that is now corrected but obviously does not help with running the prior year reports.

@CH4MBR5 @GDay53

The ATO systems do not cope with TPAR well.

Outstanding TPAR does not appear on an Agent's outstanding returns.

It is important in business to design procedures for ATO requirements.

You should work closely with your BAS/Tax Agent to ensure all ATO requirements are met.

If you have to do a paper based TPAR, so be it.
