Hi @Johnoc,

The first thing I would check is the Firewall configuration in Bullguard. It has most likely turned itself on and is now blocking connections to SQL server, which is TCP Port 1433. As a test; can disable the firewall in Bullguard, confirm MYOB is now working again, then look at creating an allow rule. For the allow rule I would look at either the executable, sqlserver.exe or TCP Port 1433. The executable location will be dertermined by both the version and if you are using a 32bit or 64bit installation of SQL server.

Let me know how you go.

Cheers!

Hi @Johnoc

In addition to the info that @SB_Systems has provided, its important to note that out of the box, SQL server will attempt to use Dynamic Ports - so if you can allow BullGuard to not firewall the actual SQL server process (sqlserver.exe) - this should cover the ports as they are used for Dynamic Port allocation.

But certainly the first step is to disable the firewall and see if the problem goes away - if it does, then you can be confident that the BullGuard firewall is blocking access to the SQL ports.

BullGuard's support team should be able to assist with creating the necessary firewall rules should they be needed.

cheers,
