Cannot rollover 2015 and create a 2016 Tax Return - CLIENT CODE

Hi,

I previously posted the below topic and the issue was resolved.

http://community.myob.com/t5/Accountants-Office/Cannot-rollover-2014-and-create-a-2015-Tax-Return-CL...

I am now having the same issue, but the link in the solution is dead.

Can someone assist?

Thankyou,

James

Re: Cannot rollover 2015 and create a 2016 Tax Return - CLIENT CODE

Hi @JPatonSSA

can you please confirm :

  • What version of tax 2016 do you currently have installed? (in a 2016 tax return - Help > About)
  • What is the exact error that occurs?
  • Does the error occur when creating returns for all clients?  or only some?

cheers,

Matt

Re: Cannot rollover 2015 and create a 2016 Tax Return - CLIENT CODE

Hi Matt,

  • 2016.1 V 5.4.18.301 Plus.
  • The error is exactly as the same as the previously linked topic.
  • No, just a single client that we have found.

Regards,

James

Re: Cannot rollover 2015 and create a 2016 Tax Return - CLIENT CODE

Hi @JPatonSSA

It seems like this return may have an incorrect value set in the prior year which is why its not rolling forward.

Here are the instructions (edited) from the original Knowledge Base article linked in the previous topic.

Untick the prior year (Tax 2015) return "exclude from rollover"

Open the prior year return (Tax 2015) and perform the following steps.

  1. Follow the menu path:
    Return Properties > PAYG/Lodge tab.
The Return Properties - PAYG/Lodged tab appears.

  2. Untick "Exclude from rollover" checkbox.
The Exclude from rollover is deselected.

Refresh the 2016 Tax Return Properties via System release

  1. Open System Release and double click on Tax 2016 ledger.
The 2016 Tax Returns list appear.

Note: To find the location of System release location refer to KB 28712: How do I determine the System Release directory?

  2. Log in using the Username SUPERVIS and the Password s6.
    System Release opens.

  3. Identify if there is a folder other than ledgers with the following type of file location:
    The folders are identified.

    Example: S6:\\servername\MSSQL\AOTAX1
where AOTAX1 is the tax database name.

  4.  Double click on the folder located in Step 3.
The folder is open and displays all the tax ledgers.

  5. Locate the return header for the required client, right click and select Properties.
    The Return Properties window appears.

  6. Complete the client code and tab through the fields in the general tab.
The Return Properties fields are complete.

  7. Click OK to save the changes.

Double click to open the current year return.

cheers,
