Hi there

 

But  if I take that out the subvention receipt doesn't show in Box 27 where it should be showing and I have losses to carry forward into future years which is also incorrect.

 

I have put a request into the Inland Revenue as to how the subvention receipt should be treated given that the software will not allow the return to be filed if we put things in the boxes they're supposed to go in.

Thanks for the update.

 

The Support Analyst who provided the screenshot in my post above suggested making sure that you use the field 39F as this should enter the values for the appropriate fields correctly.

All the boxes have the correct figures in them. The end result is correct but the software will not let us file the return because Box 24 is less than Box 25B.  Why won't the system allow us to file the return?

 

If we change the figure in Box 25B to match 24 - the return then showns incorrectly that the result is taxable income and calculates the tax accordingly.   We cannot file the return on that basis as the IRD have issues with tax returns that are knowingly filed incorrectly.    It would appear that - depending on what the IRD come back with - our only answer would be to file a manual return - and that totally defeats the purpose of the software, which should handle this situation as easily as it does when the subvention payment goes the other way.

I wonder if anyone else has any ideas with regards to my issue.  ANd is MYOB sure it is not a software issue from their end.  I have asked the Team at IRD for their feedback and will let you know their reply.
