I have Business basics V1.1 which is a few years old and just tried to load it onto a new PC running Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 (64bit operating system).  It comes up with an installation error 1628 but no further details and will not install MYOB on the pc.

Is a software upgrade needed?

Hello ShaneA,

 

Business Basics v1.1 is supported on Windows 7 and there are no issues with 64 bit. Error 1628 is an InstallSheild error message, this link cover the fixing off it as explained by Microsoft. Even though this is for Microsoft Games the same process is used to fix Error 1628 with other products.

 

I would also suggest making sure this is installed in Administrator, and with the virus scanner and firewall turned off.

 

We have released AccountRight Basics 2011 as well. Which was released last year, this also works on Windows 7 64bit.
