Hello
Just wondering if there's some great (easy) way to transfer a company file created in MYOB Australia into MYOB New Zealand. We have businesses both here in Australia & New Zealand so I had created a company file for our New Zealand business in the Australian Version of MYOB it still worked because i could adjust the GST rates etc and luckily the New Zealand business is run very basically (no payroll etc).
That said though here in oz we have ABN's in NZ they have GST numbers and i cant enter these details in the Oz version. I have now purchased the NZ Version and the only way i can really see to do it is to basically start a new company file with opening balances. Is there a particular method i should follow to do this or can the data be exported and imported? or will it conflict with the NZ version.
I have a fair bit of experience with MYOB but i get a little confused with the exporting/importing process and im no accountant would it be advisable to get a bookeeper to assist?
Cheers
hope you can help.

Hi Lana,
Unfortunately you there are no options to covert a Australian File to NZ or vice versa as both versions have different fields and legislation requirements.
You would need look at creating a new file and entering opening balances.

HI there,
You will have to create a new file in the NZ version, however you can export the existing information such as Accounts List, Card files, stock codes etc out of the Aussie version, then import them into the NZ version. You would just need to check that all the fields are matching correctly. It certainly would help to have an Approved partner assist with this.

Thanks for the feedback guys i thought that may be the case, but being able to import the card files & account lists at least will make it a bit easier. NZ financial year end is next month anyway so shouldnt be too much of a hassle
