EFTPOS TERMINALS

Please will you advise if MYOB has the following functionality:

1. Using EFTPOS (Payments on the Go) facility. - Our intention is if we sell goods, the customer pays via EFTPOS and it is thereafter fed into MYOB?   / or other solutions that may exist that will eliminate double keying and increase productivty,

2. The associated pricing per transaction and card type.

3. The montly charges per EFTPOS machine.

4. Any other associated charges that may be incurred.

We are using Accountright ver 19.3 online.

Thank you

Re: EFTPOS TERMINALS

Hi @Debbiesap

Thanks for your question.

The PayDirect card reader can be used in two ways depending on how it is setup. Either this reader can be used as a stand-alone unit, which will take the payments and the payment has to be entered against the AccountRight invoice. Alternatively, if the card reader has been setup to be integrated with your online file, then you choose the invoice and then take the payment against that invoice.

Currently the pricing for the MYOB PayDirect Card Readers is shown on our website on the pricing page.

Please note that the PayDirect mobile reader can only connect to MYOB Essentials files and AccountRight 201X.X files stored on the cloud.

Kind regards,
Neil

Re: EFTPOS TERMINALS

Hello Neil,

Thank you for your reply.  If I am understanding correctly that will only work for Mobile Phone Payments?

Please can you advise how this differs from the EFTPOS Machine facilities which I think may be geared more towards our needs.

Our ultimate aim is to cease using a 3rd Party Merchant bank facility , and thereafter rekeying the entries directly into MYOB, we are also attempting to link these transacation to our inventory system..

Please can you clarify the need for an invoice if all payments are made at the point of sale.

Re: EFTPOS TERMINALS

HI @Debbiesap

The PayDirect card reader connects to a mobile phone to act as a mobile eftpos machine, which can be used to bring the eftpos machine to the client or act as an eftpos machine in your business. As it is a mobile unit, clients who provide services at the clients place of business, such as a plumber, can find it very useful as a means to collect payment at the point that the service was performed.

That being said there is no requirement to use the PayDirect mobile card reader in a mobile sense, as you could keep the device at the counter and use it in the same way a conventional eftpos machine would be used.

As mentioned previously, depending on how the PayDirect unit is setup with your company file determines whether or not you need an invoice. If the reader is setup to be a stand-alone unit and not integrated with your company file then you just type in the amount you are wanting to charge and swipe the card. This will mean that when the payment comes through into your bank you will need to apply the payment to an invoice to record the payment for a sale.

Kind regards,
Neil
