Importing stock quantities and average cost

[ Edited ]

Hi all,

I have imported the item master fields from an old database.

Is it possible to do a mass export from the old database and upload into the new database.

To transfer stock (on-hand) quantities and average cost, you can produce an item list summary to Excel, then turn it into an inventory adjustment for import to the new file.

Export a dummy adjustment from the new file and open it in Excel to see the format. Change all dollar values to exclude $ sign and commas.

Hi Johnnie,

As an adjunct to Mikes response you will need to convert this data file to a Text file .txt, (tab delimitted I would sugget) before importing,

If you have any changes after importing, you can export again (it will be a Text file), open in Excel, make the adjustmemts, save as a Text file again, then import again.

Hi Tisnat,

You are not able to export Last Cost and Average Cost through the export process in MYOB.

However as described above you are able to run the Item List Summary and send this to excel to obtain your Average Cost figures in an excel spreadsheet.

Kind Regards,
