Update: Small but important AccountRight v19 update (Option 2) is now available for both AU and NZ clients.
Recently, some vulnerabilities in Apple’s QuickTime software have been found, and these won’t be addressed by Apple. MYOB AccountRight v19 (and earlier) currently relies on QuickTime software to create PDFs with pictures, such as your business logo.
If you choose to uninstall QuickTime, any PDFs you create using AccountRight won’t display pictures. This applies to PDFs that you email or save to disk. When printing forms using AccountRight, your pictures will still print.
If you do choose to leave QuickTime on your machine please be aware this could potentially make your computer vulnerable to being hacked.
Here are your options if you uninstall QuickTime and have images on the PDFs you email or save from AccountRight:
Option 1) Move to AccountRight 2016
If you have an AccountRight subscription, you can move to AccountRight 2016, which doesn’t need QuickTime. You can move now unless you use these features:
If you can’t move to AccountRight 2016, we recommend installing a small update for your existing software, which removes AccountRight’s reliance on QuickTime. To install this update, go to the Help menu > Updates > Check for updates and click Install. Learn about managing software updates.
Option 3) Use a third-party PDF creator
If you can’t move to AccountRight 2016, you’ll need to use a third-party tool, such as CutePDF Writer or the PDF printer provided with Windows 10, when you want to email a form that has pictures.
We hope that one of these options will help resolve this issue for you.
