Sending email from MYOB to Microsoft Outlook 2010 64 bit version

How long before there is a fix available so I can send invoices via email from MYOB software to the 64 bit version of Microsoft Outlook 2010?

Does anyone else have this problem as I cannot find a solution.

It should be fixed around 2020. Seriously, if it isn't available in the new version due out later this year, I would be worried.

Re: Sending email from MYOB to Microsoft Outlook 2010 64 bit version

I've found some more information for the tech support guys.  Anyone reading this??

There’s a couple of posts on the partner forums, and out in the interwebs about not being able to send emails from MYOB to outlook 2010 64bit edition.  I’m one of those ppl.  I’ve spoken to your tech support, but they can’t help.

Specifically, the error when trying to send a remittance/payslip etc via email is; “Cannot Load “MAPI32.dll” Please install MAPI”

I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled Accountright a few times, and even uninstalled outlook and reinstalled.  Also done all under the admin account.

After some searches on the internet, it seems that users of other accounting software products are ALSO experiencing problems in sending emails to Outlook 2010 64bit.Your tech support guys can see this here; http://community.peachtree.com/t5/Peachtree-Accounting/Outlook-2010/m-p/17337

HOWEVER I have found a report on Microsoft technet which states that “If you have a MAPI application in your environment, that the bitness of the MAPI application must be the same as the installed version of Outlook 2010. For more information, see Considerations for MAPI applications for Outlook in 64-bit editions of Office 2010.”  As your tech support guys can see, the MYOB is trying to use MAPI32, when it should be trying to use a 64bit dll.  The link to the technet link is http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc179110.aspx

It would seem that MYOB as soon as possible needs to address how emails are sent to 64 bit versions of office.  The MYOB software has to use the 64bit dll, not the 32bit dll!!!

Re: Sending email from MYOB to Microsoft Outlook 2010 64 bit version

The problem has nothing to do with office 2010 and Myob 19

The problem is simple, there was no such thing as 64 bit office 2007, this is new with 2010.

If you want to use Office 2010 you can by simply instal the 32 bit version, not the 64 bit.

Further, even if you are running a 64bit verson of Vista or Windows 7, server 2008, you can still install 32 bit Office 2010 on the 64bit OS no problems at all.

You don't have to go back to 2007, like someone stated as not being a option. Just install 32bit Office 2010.

Trust me, I've just gone through this, i had 64bit office 2010 installed on my 2008 64 bit Terminal Server and Myob 19 and all i would get was mapi32.dll errors when trying to print.

Just today I finally got around to removing 64bit office 2010 and installed 32bit office 2010 and now moyb prints perfectly through terminal services, no more mapi32.dll errors.

Let me know how you go.....

Re: Sending email from MYOB to Microsoft Outlook 2010 64 bit version

Jeremy is correct here.

The system is looking for MAPI32.dll which is the problem, mapi32.dll is only for 32bit clients.

The 64bit mapi works very well for what it is but our systems are not looking for that file.

The error is because the system is looking for a mapi32.dll which does not exist.

Re: Sending email from MYOB to Microsoft Outlook 2010 64 bit version

Most of my clients are moving to WIndows 7 64bit with Office 2010 64bit so this is going to be an issue!!!

Can we have an idea of time frame?

Re: Sending email from MYOB to Microsoft Outlook 2010 64 bit version

Hi Ann-Maree

This is not an error or a "bug" to use a term most are familiar with, it is simply the way the software is designed to function.

Office 2010 is a very new release, much newer than the v19 AccountRight range and hence we did not anticipate this and even if we had, we would not have had the technical information to do anything about it.

It is possible that the next full release of the software, early 2011, may address this by adding support for 64bit Office but at this stage nothing official has been released on the topic.

The Official MYOB line is Office 2010 is not a supported package for use with MYOB software.
