Staff Amenities & Staff Entertainment

Good Morning,

 

Can someone please let me know whats difference between  Staff ENTERTAINMENT expense and Staff AMENITIES expense??

Hi Abhi,

 

In my opinion this subject should be discussed with your accountant thus allowing you to do it right the first time around.

 

To me and the accountants that I work with classify the following as Staff Amenities:-

Milk, tea, coffee, buscuits etc - don't forget to check as some of these items are free of GST, some accountants will allow you to put staff meetings at coffee shop to Amenities or Meetings.

 

Entertainment Expense can be classified as an expensive meal at a restruant and or if receipt is from a Hotel anywhere where alcohol is served - check with your accountant as to what they will allow, also the ATO website will have information for you.
