I have problem with AcountEdge V5.01 which crashes after "Start New Financial Year " is selected and then after a while of it going through all the checking etc. of the data file it just CRASHES!
Any workarounds, suggestions or solutions would be gratefully accepted as it's driving me crazy. ;-(

Take a backup, then run an Optimise first (not sure if your version is new-ish, but try File, Optimise...), and if this produces errors then you may need to send your file to MYOB for correction.

Thanks for the suggestion and tried to do it but it keeps asking me to shorten the name (see attach) ! Which I have by half but it's still not happy with filename length.
Just how short does it have to be and why does it matter?

Just wondering if your filename has a .myo extension, if not, add it, if it has, remove it.
