The domain name registration is paid annually. You can own it as long as you keep paying the yearly fee for it. If we are unable to secure payment on or before the domain renewal date, your domain name will expire.
Why is it important to renew domain name before it expires?
If you do not renew before the expiration date, the domain will no longer be active and other services you have associated with the domain name may no longer function i.e. website not visible, no email forwarding.
When Customers type your expired domain into a website browser, they won't reach to your website. Also, there is always a risk your domain name gets claimed by a competitor.
What will happen if domain expired?
Your website will not be visible via this domain name, your Atlas website will remain active and can be accessed via its default domain name.
The domain will be available to open market after passing the deletion stage (time-frame depends on different domain Registry) and could potentially be registered by your competitor.
What is our role as domain re-seller?
Approximately 90 days prior to the domain expiration date, we begin to send email reminders to you on the email address you listed with us. You will be given the choice to renew it or risk losing it.
Note: We will remind you before your domain expires but it is your responsibility as the owner to track the expiry date and renew it on time.
What you need to do?
The best way to protect your domain name is to renew it timely. Once you receive the renewal notice, we suggest you to renew it straight away don't wait till it is expired. If the contract is up for renewal in April and you renew in March, your new contract won't start until your old one expires in April. It can save a lot of future hassles.
Keeping your contact information up to date is also important as MYOB Atlas will send all expiration notice emails to the primary contact email on the account. You can check your primary contact email by logging in to My.MYOB.
