StGeorge changed the QIF file format

Hi everyone,

We've discovered that StGeorge have recently changed the format of their bank statement QIF files, which would cause issues when you import the bank statement. If you are with Bank of Melbourne, Bank SA and other Westpac subsidiaries, you may also be affected.

The second description line seems slightly different than the first, but only by a few letters in most cases. Here is an example below:

Original Format:

!Type:Bank

D01/09/16

MDEPOSIT - TEXTGOESHERE

T916.78

LDEP

^

New format:

!Type:Bank

D01/09/16

MDEPOSIT - TEXTGOESHERE
PDEPOSIT - TEXTGOESHERE

T916.78

LDEP

^

We found that by deleting the second description line for each transaction in the QIF file, you'll be able to import it without issue. We'll keep a close eye on this matter, and bring you updates when there is more information.

Kind regards,
Clover
