Hi @Trandy

The employee's postcode is not something that can be added to the Earnings Certificates in MYOB Payroll. The address field will pull the name and address field onto the

If you do require the postcode to be added it would need to be added into the address field on the Maintain Employee's window for that employee.

Postcodes are used alot more prevalently than back in the day.  Why doesn't MYOB just pop the postcode field in the layout for the earnings cert?  There's room for it.

It seems crazy when you have the field available that we have to pop it in the address field.

When is Payroll going to be integrated with AccountRight like in Aus?

Hi @Trandy

Currently adding the postcode field onto the Earning Certificate is not something that we are actively looking into future updates with New Zealand Payroll. My understanding is that the Earning Certificate does just pull the name and address field, as the postcode is outside those bounds then it doesn't get included on the report.

In regards to the Payroll being integrated with AccountRight, you might want to look at AccountRight Live Payroll in NZ

Right.  Ok.  you might as well take out the postcode field then.  It's only showing up in internal reports.

The link doesn't answer my question.  When living in Aus years ago we had it with Premier as part of the program.  Why can't we have the same set up as Aus in that regard?

Re: Payroll Earnings Certificates Postcodes

Hi @Trandy

In terms of why AccountRight doesn't have a Payroll module included with New Zealand company files but there it is included in Australian company file is a number of different reasons, such as:

  • The two database structures for the programs are different
  • Australian payroll is less complex than New Zealand, especially around leave
  • Unlike New Zealand, Australian payroll reporting can be required to be reported on a BAS form to the ATO along with their GST

One of the benefits of having AccountRight separate to Payroll is that you don't have to AccountRight to have Payroll. If you want payroll you can just purchase Payroll whereas in Australia if you want Payroll you need to have AccountRight Plus. So you might have another program doing your accounting or an accountant handling that side but you want to process the pays in house.

As mentioned in my linked post, we don't have any immediate plans to update AccountRight in New Zealand to include Payroll it may be something that we look into for the future but not actively developing.

Re: Payroll Earnings Certificates Postcodes

Hi Steven

Yes, I worked in Qld and know the system there.  Fair point about someone wanting just Payroll but reckon there should be the option to have it all under one umbrella.

Thanks for your input.

Cheers

Jannette
