Can someone please advise how you work out the 'one week' for recording Leave Without Pay in payroll? Also do we record in payroll as 1 or do we enter the hours ie 40.
Our employee took two days (Thurs and Friday) LWOP one week, then five days the following week, but one of these was a Stat (Monday) which we paid him.
He then took another five consecutive days LWOP, then the following week four days LWOP, back at work on the Friday.
This is all over a four week period.

Which Payroll are you using? If you are using NZ Payroll - there is a paycode UNPDLV - which you would use to record the number of hours taken in unpaid leave in each of the weeks you paid him. This will then reduce the number of weeks the average daily pay is worked out over. If you are using Essentials Payroll, then you would reduce the number of hours paid and make a note in the notes about the unpaid leave - there isn't a code for unpaid leave.
