Reducing hours

Hi there

There used to be a step-by-step solution how to reduce an employee's hours in payroll but can't find it anywhere Smiley Sad

My client's got an employee whose hours go from 28 (estimated) to 11 (estimated). When I change the hours in payroll the annual leave entitlement decreases, is that correct? What other steps do I have to do?

Hi @ElsB

NZ Payroll?? - you are best to do this at the anniversary rollover date, then calculate the previous year manually and override the ANHL due down to a pro-rata of the number of weeks at the higher accrual, then add the number of weeks at the lower accrual.

Following on from @jenniek's post, New Zealand Payroll Support Note: Reducing an employee's Normal Hours per week is the Support Note you are looking for - similar to that old support note just rebranded and reformatted.
