Afternoon all
There used to be a solution posted somewhere how to fix the MAPI error (emailing invoices) but can't find it anywhere ![]()
Clients is using Windows Mail. Before upgrading to v19.5 they were able to email invoices, but now they get the MAPI error.
Help!

I think you have to make Windows live the default email, which it may prompt you on opening, or if not, (go to Show, Options., Make Default (next to the Mail option). Then close and re-start.

It is worth noting here that MYOB only officially supports Outlook as a email solution because this is the only one we know has the correct version of MAPI that our software requires.
Windows Live mail does not have the same MAPI and while it may work, and keep working, at some point it will fail. A security patch that Outlook MAPI just shugs off could stop Live MAPI working at all for our software.

Tried Mike's solution, but still no go....And it's definitely Windows Mail, not Live. For now they are just sending the invoice/quote to disk and then attach it to their email.
So if there any other suggestions out there, they're still welcome!

Hi this has been a problem for me using vista and now windows 7. I have tried reinstalling and repairing but this is the only way that works for me is
MYOB should now be able to email because it knows which email you are using.
Lots of luck, I know this is frustrating.
PS You should close MYOB before starting this and sometimes you need to reboot the computer for it to take.

This has been driving me crazy since I installed MYOB18 and no one has been able to suggest a working fix for it.
I tried what you suggested and it worked. I am totally blown away!!! MYOB Customer support had no idea when I spoke to them after trying unsuccessfully to email invoices, and basically said there was no fix, after all the fixes they suggested didn't work.

You would have been given generic fixes for email problems from our support staff.
As I posted before, MYOB does not officially support any non-MAPI email client, Windows Live Mail and Windows Mail are included in this list. so no specific training has been given to our guys on email solutions other than Outlook.

Thank you so much CathieR. You have made my life so much easier. I was having to transfer my MYOB file to another old computer which still had Outlook Express and email payslips from there and then return it to my current computer. Your fix worked and I am so very grateful to you.
