I am trying to get a Citizen CD-S501 USB POS impact printer to work with MYOB RetailManager 11.1 on a Windows 7 computer. Much to my surprise and amazement that USB printing is not supported by MYOB RetailManager (sorry MYOB but USB been around for some time now...). Far as I can find out is that Citizen do not have COM port emulation for the CD-S50x series available with effectively making it a door stop when it comes to MYOB RetailManager. I tried the USB Emulation help file which is geared to the epson printers and that does not work. The Windows driver and OPOS support are installed.
If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

The problem has been solve.
I had to order a serial port card for the printer and now it is working.
NOTE TO MYOB:
Other POS systems can support any printer that has windows driver by using windows print spooler (USB, LPT, COM, network printer, etc... support). This is the smart way to go as would lift yourselves out of the printer/scanner/pole display support limtation that you have put on yourselves. Your other products do this and would definitly be the smart way to go. This should have been done years ago.

Hi Sweeney,
Just to let you know the new Retail Manager 12 now supports USB. So as long as the printer can be seen from in Windows, Retail Manager 12 will now recognise this.
Would you like to show your appreciation?
