Incorrect Recording of Inventory

I have had the same problem as the person in the below thread:

I mistakingly entered a new item with buying units of 5, but purchased the product in individual units.

It should be bought and sold as individual units.  But when I try to edit the buying units to 1 in the item, it says 'Error. You have purchases for this item'.  I only have one purchase and no sales for this item as yet.  So how can I fix this, without having to delete the purchase order, (which was created, finalised and reconciled 4 months ago).

Re: Incorrect Recording of Inventory

Hi @Verdant

Once you have recorded an invoice or purchase for an item the "Number of Items per selling unit or buying unit" is set and is not able to be changed.

If those number of units do need to changed you would be looking at creating a new items with the correct values OR deleting all transactions associated with that item, change the item number of units value and then redo those transactions.

Kind Regards,
Steven
