AccountRight 2026.2 Single Sign-On (SSO) - Update
2 MIN READ Hi All, Providing an update that we have turned off the AccountRight Single Sign-On (SSO) temporarily. This was done on Friday 20th March. We apologise for any disruption to your experience last week due to the new login. Our priority is to ensure that any future changes to how you access AccountRight are communicated clearly and introduced in a way that works for your business. What we heard: The change came as a surprise to customers and there was concern that the change might be untrustworthy. Customer have highlighted that this was as a change that should have had better advance communication from MYOB There was an unexpected bug that caused a sign in loop. We have since discovered this occurred when the browser version was not matching the desktop version and we will work to address this before turning SSO on again. Lastly, multiple customers shared frustration when accessing multiple instances of AccountRight at the same time with different user logins. After the update, customers had to re-log in everytime they switched between files with the solution of ensuring that they have the same user profile added to every file that would allow switching. We will be seeking to interview some of those who shared this impact to better understand how and why customers have multiple files with different users so that we can find an appropriate solution SSO will be reintroduced at a later date, once we've taken the time to address the concerns raised and ensure a better experience for everyone. If you have any questions or are experiencing issues, please don't hesitate to contact our support team. We appreciate your patience. Regards, MYOB (Mike)482Views0likes16CommentsAccountRight Single Sign-on Re-Release
1 MIN READ Hi everyone. Tomorrow we’re re-releasing AccountRight Single Sign-On (SSO). New logins to AccountRight Desktop will open in a browser window to login instead of the desktop sign-in window. We’ve been communicating this change via in-product messages and newsletters, over the past three weeks, but it may still catch some infrequent users by surprise. The initial release a few weeks ago did cause some confusion amongst users. Some were alarmed when the browser window opened, some hit a sign-in loop bug, and there was confusion around using multiple files under different user IDs simultaneously, which bookkeepers sometimes do. The bugs are now fixed and we've communicated experience changes ahead of this release. The benefits of SSO help reduce unnecessary logins, works better with password managers and passkeys, and remembers login email addresses. This new login experience makes accessing your MYOB file across desktop and browser more seamless. Once signed in, customers stay connected across desktop app and browser without needing to re-enter their details each time (ATO timeouts still apply). If you previously accessed different files using different email addresses at the same time, you'll need to add the same email / user ID to each file you want to have open simultaneously. To access a file with a different user ID, you’ll need to log out and then log back in with the new credentials. Signing back in is now much faster, with pre-filled email, password manager support, and passkeys.167Views0likes10CommentsChanges to MYOB AccountRight offline mode
5 MIN READ Hi everyone An important is being emailed to our customers this week, and I am posting an update here as well for any who might have missed it or not yet received it. From 17 June 2026, MYOB AccountRight desktop app (PC edition) will only work with company files stored online. Offline mode will no longer be available, and from version 2026.5 (PC edition) you’ll no longer be able to open, edit or save files stored locally (in My Library or Network Library). *You'll still be able to view offline backups in previous AccountRight versions for audit requirements AccountRight desktop isn’t going anywhere. The only change is that your company file will need to be online to receive product and security updates, support, and online services. If you’re currently using an offline AccountRight file with an active subscription, you need to move your file online before 17 June 2026 to continue to access AccountRight . There’s no additional cost to move your existing subscribed file online. Why are we making this change? The offline version of MYOB AccountRight desktop is built on technology that no longer meets today’s performance standards. Moving online will: Improve performance, reliability and security, such as 2FA and regular online back-ups Ensure MYOB AccountRight is built on current, supported technology Deliver faster and more frequent improvements, including stronger AI capabilities Align with industry best practice and evolving needs of our customers We remain committed to supporting your business far into the future. Our focus is shifting to investing in our next generation of online products and modern technology that reflects the evolving needs of our customers, delivering solutions that save time, increase efficiency, and improve collaboration between small businesses and their advisors. We’ve put together an overview of what’s changing and how to move your file online linked here Please note, that any SME customers who need to take action will be communicated with via email on Tuesday 21st April. Updated FAQs 21/04 There is a legal requirement for businesses to keep records for 7 years – can I access an old back up for these purposes? Yes. You can continue to meet your 7-year record-keeping obligations with your existing offline backups. Here's how: For audit/view-only purposes – You can restore older backups in any AccountRight PC edition version prior to 2026.5 to view files. These versions remain available on our website at myob.com/downloads. For active files – If you have an active subscription, you can access prior years directly from your browser without restoring a backup. How can I view an old offline file after this change? To open an old offline file, customers can download a previous version of MYOB AccountRight PC Edition and use that to open, access, or interact with an offline file. PC Edition We currently host previous versions of MYOB AccountRight on our website, and we have no immediate plans to change that. Please note that due to monthly automatic software updates, you will need to download and reinstall that previous version of PC Edition if you want to access the offline file on an ongoing basis. Server Edition If you need to interact with old offline files on a regular basis, downloading and installing Server Edition will enable you to have offline access and it won’t be impacted by our monthly automatic updates. We strongly encourage customers to move their files online to ensure access to future features and security enhancements. In both cases (Server Edition and older versions of the PC Edition) there are risks. At some point, this software will be phased out, and the file will need to be moved online. After 17 June 2026, Server Edition will only receive bug fixes, not any future features or security enhancements. For perpetual licence holders, for now, you will continue to be able to access your file offline using one of the above-mentioned options. What happens to my specific version of an AR offline file? MYOB AccountRight Classic / V19 Can be opened in Classic/V19. The file will fail confirmation and become read-only, but you can still view files for audit purposes. MYOB AccountRight PC Edition From version 2026.5 onward, there will be no offline capability. Older versions remain available for download on our website, and backups can be restored to view and edit, provided you have an active licence (perpetual licence or current paying SaaS licence). Important: MYOB AccountRight auto-updates to the latest version each month, so if you do install an older version of PC Edition, this old version would need to be re-installed if you needed to access an offline file again in future. MYOB AccountRight Server Edition From version 2026.5 Server Edition will be offline-only. However, MYOB AccountRight Server Edition is not a long-term solution. At some point, this software will be phased out, and the file will need to be moved online. After 17 June 2026, Server Edition will only receive bug fixes, not any future features or security enhancements. How do I view previous years' data for an active file with a subscription? In MYOB AccountRight desktop You can override your current online live file by restoring an old backup OR download an old version of PC edition or install Server Edition and restore the backup locally (offline) In MYOB AccountRight browser – If your primary need is to view historical data for audits or reporting, the browser version is the simplest, most future-ready method. If you can’t see previous answers about installing PC or server edition You don't need any backup. Simply change the date range and you can view previous years' data directly. Financial year restrictions on reports have been removed — for example, you can now generate profit and loss comparative reports from 2012–2020 via browser (which is not possible in desktop). I upgraded from V19/Classic to the latest offline version, what does this change mean for me? We have three options available for you to consider: Move your file online. Take advantage of online capabilities that MYOB AccountRight has to offer. These include: Automatic cloud backups protecting your data without manual effort Live bank feeds that are more up to date Multi-user access — multiple people can work in your file at the same time Faster access to the latest software updates as soon as they are released Improved performance and upcoming AI-powered features Move to Server Edition – This retains offline access and interaction with your file for now. Please note: AccountRight Server Edition is not a long-term solution. At some point, this software will be phased out, and the file will need to be moved online. After 17 June 2026, Server Edition will not receive any future feature or security enhancements and will only receive the bug fixes. Return to Classic – You can view files in read-only mode for audit purposes, but you will not be able to edit offline.5.8KViews0likes189CommentsMYOB Business, AccountRight & Payroll – Weekend Maintenance Lockout: This Has to Change
want to raise something that I suspect many of us in the bookkeeping and accounting community are feeling right now, but may not have had the chance to put into words. MYOB is currently locked down for scheduled maintenance from Friday 8 May at 8:00 PM AEST through to Monday 11 May at 7:00 AM AEST — that's 59 hours. An entire weekend. Gone. But let's put this in context, because this is not a one-off. I pulled our own status history from MYOB's platform and the data speaks for itself. Looking at just the week of 25 April to 1 May 2026: — MYOB Business: affected or under maintenance every single day — AccountRight: affected or under maintenance nearly every day — MYOB Acumatica: maintenance events on multiple days — MYOB Practice Management: degraded or affected every single day — not one clean green day in the entire period — MYOB Exo Payroll: maintenance events mid-week as well This is not occasional planned maintenance. This is chronic, near-daily disruption across MYOB's entire product suite, consistently hitting during evening and overnight hours — from approximately 8:00 PM through to 6:30 AM — week after week. The weekend lockout running until Monday morning is simply the most extreme and visible example of a pattern that has been ongoing for some time and is quietly destroying after-hours productivity for professional practices across the country. For those of us who discovered this weekend's outage only after the system started running strangely and we went looking for answers, that's not good enough. There was no proactive email notification. No direct communication. Just a notice buried on the status page — which places the burden squarely on us to go looking for information we had no reason to expect we'd need. Posting to a status page is not adequate communication for an outage of this scale. And it is certainly not adequate for what the data shows is a near-daily pattern of service degradation. The impact on our practice has been immediate and significant: — We had payroll runs scheduled for multiple clients this weekend, with pay dates on Monday — Our staff work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends — this is our normal — We have lost an entire weekend of billable, deadline-driven work with no access to our clients' data — This work doesn't just disappear — it compresses into an already full week, putting pressure on staff, pushing deadlines, and creating a cascading effect on our scheduling, time management, capacity, and client commitments that will be felt for days — And the cumulative toll of the ongoing weekly overnight outages has been chipping away at our capacity for weeks. Evening work has become so unreliable that we can no longer plan around it with any confidence MYOB's maintenance scheduling appears to be built around the assumption that its users work 9 to 5, Monday to Friday. That is not the reality for bookkeepers, BAS agents, and accountants — the very professionals who rely most heavily on this platform and who manage it on behalf of dozens of clients. What I am asking MYOB to address: 1. Proactive email notification for any planned outage longer than a few hours — well in advance, not after the lockout has already begun 2. A transparent explanation of why routine maintenance requires such frequent and lengthy windows across every product in the suite simultaneously 3. A serious review of maintenance scheduling that reflects the actual working patterns of professional practices 4. Acknowledgement that after-hours and weekend access is not optional for our industry — it is essential 5. Consideration of service credits for the cumulative impact of ongoing outages on billable work and client obligations I have screenshots of the status history to back all of this up and am happy to share them. I'd encourage anyone else who has been affected — not just this weekend but by the pattern of ongoing overnight outages — to add their voice here. The more of us who speak up, the harder this is to ignore. Happy to hear if others are experiencing the same and whether anyone has found workable solutions in the meantime.398Views7likes8CommentsPrepare electronic payment and printing to excel
Help I previously received assistance from Johnick at MYOB, who ran a script to resolve an issue we were experiencing with Electronic Payments. A similar issue has now occurred again. When I go into Prepare Electronic Payments, I can see a transaction for an employee that has already been paid and matched in MYOB. This transaction appeared several months after the original payment was processed. I have spoken with our accountants, but they were unsure how to resolve the issue. In addition, when I select the Print option within Prepare Electronic Payments, I can see this employee’s transaction along with two other employees showing $0.00 payments. These zero-value entries appeared a few weeks apart. My original issue was with these $0.00 payments appearing, and I’m concerned that more may continue to appear over time. At the moment, I am manually deleting these entries, but I would like to know: How to permanently remove transactions that have already been processed and matched - not sure why it is showing. How to remove the $0.00 employee payment entries - these don't show in the Prepare Electronic Payments only when I go into the print function How to prevent these entries from appearing in the Prepare Electronic Payments window and in the Excel export. Does the script need to be run again? Ideally, I would like only current, valid payments to appear in the Prepare Electronic Payments screen and in any exported reports. Thank you for your assistance. Chris15Views0likes1CommentAR SE version not opening up my files
I need to use online and offline versions and having trouble logging in. I have downloaded the SE edition, with all good intentions of using it for the 3x offline data files (I purchased 5-data file software with no need to put these online). I also contract to other companies and access their on-line data files. So I downloaded SE, did a backup of the 3 files, created the SE file to go to a new library I created (where I put the backups), turned off my internet on my computer (just in case), and can't open anything up. What do I do now? I never asked for any upgrades and complained a few times when this happened. Thanks for your help, I don't want to get to mid-June and can't open these files any more.12Views0likes0CommentsMid year transfer to MYOB's initial STP Report incorrect
We transferred over to MYOB Payroll mid financial year. During the setup our payroll officer ran an update event to bring the YTD earnings of our team members over. It appears we butchered these numbers with only the team members salary for the year being added in, not their YTD earnings. From this point onwards our STP reporting as being adding onto this number. I'm looking at running an update event to fix this, but can not find the information on how to make changes before the update is sent. Any help would be amazing.16Views0likes1Comment- 11Views0likes3Comments
Invoice number error (desktop)
I've noticed an error with invoice numbers that has existed for about a year now. If you enter an invoice as a recurring transaction and then don't close the sales window, and start a new invoice that is not recurring the invoice number will be whatever the auto number was when you first opened the window. Additionally, it won't have the repeating invoice number error pop up. The only way to generate a correct invoice number is to close the window and re-open it. This does not occur if you enter non-recurring transactions in a row or when entering recurring transactions in a row, it only occurs when you try to enter a non-recurring transaction directly after entering a recurring transaction. I don't have the recurring transactions set up on browser so I have not tested to see if the bug occurs there. AccountRight Standard 2026.4.1.6Solved26Views0likes3Comments
