absolutely, myob. stop this login. As for security, we have a password, and we have to type the email address, that's enough for us.
this is not working for us, so i will be considering moving to another service for sure.
Hi Flowtek15 - please see my previous response here
This is an ATO requirement so all services in Australia will need to meet the 24 hour 2FA standard. It was not a decision made by MYOB to do this, but a case of ensuring our software and our customers are compliant. Thanks

To comply with a crazy decision is madness on its own! To make others comply is the only thing that is topping it. Maybe MYOB should pass the voice and opinion of the community to the ATO rather than just passing on a decision that simply is inconvenient to most if not to all. Don't you agree?

Hi BelaC , we do agree with protecting the data and security of our customers and software.
Preventing phishing attacks and other suspicious activity is important.

Personally I would welcome someone hacking into my account to take care of my bookkeeping :)
In all seriousness though MikeG1, trying to defend this one is like trying to defend cutting off someone's head because you want to cure their cough. Please don't try. You have us more on side by taking the "The Tax Office made us do it" line than trying to defend it.

I get that MYOB have to follow 2FA rules from Australian Government, but HAVING to sign in TWICE each time, username, password & 2FA, as MYOB makes it's Account Right desktop users, forced to use the Web Browser for certain aspects is REALLY ANNOYING.
NOW you tell us that the two operations are independant! Seriously!
YOU DESIGNED IT THAT WAY! Why is this our downfall.
MYOB you set up your two platforms this way. We were happy doing payroll in the desktop, but STP reporting is only in the WEB BROWSER. Your users are forced to re-log in when transferring back and forth across the two!
We used to only sign in once a day on ONE platform.
You were able to be remembered!
MYOB is becoming ridiculous to operate for small business and time wasting logging in multiple times a day.
We are certainly looking at alternatives.

I agree! We are seriously researching other software! Cannot run a multi company business with retail stores. The retail stores are trade only.

24 hours is NOT 20-30 mins. We will be using something else as this is unworkable for our busy trade counter

We are not in Australia and not subject to this ATO guidance for software development. As the subscriber, I alone should decide whether I need additional security or not.
Volunteer treasurer jobs are hard enough at times without this sort of madness. I was about to double my MYOB files but will now consider the competition.

Hi GldTreasurer , volunteers are absolutely unsung heroes and im sorry to hear that you are considering leaving as a result of the change. I appreciate that this will cause some additional effort to login again if a timeout occurs and even though NZ does not have to adhere to an ATO requirement we want to provide industry best practice security for all of our customers.

CHOICE is what is needed here. Not all customers are the same.

Well I do not have a great opinion of the ATO, they are meddling way to much in our lives.
