Hi all,

While our New Zealand clients are now celebrating a new financial year, Australians are currently gearing up for the busy end of financial year period. Or at least, they should be.

We know the day-to-day running of a business is hard and demanding enough, so it can be tempting to leave everything until the last minute. But MYOB CEO Tim Reed says that being unprepared is one of the key reasons why managers (and their loved ones) dread the end of financial year, and recently shared 10 tips to help avoid the last-minute rush.

“It’s never too early to get organised so you spend less time on paperwork mid-year,” says Tim. “It means less stress for you, your employees and your loved ones, and more time to focus on what matters most.”

The Australian end of financial year is certainly our busiest time of the year here at MYOB. That’s why we’ve been planning for it since last year.

This year we will have even more great resources to help you, including a comprehensive new End of Financial Year website complete with easy-to-follow steps, detailed Support Notes, and training videos about end of financial year processes. There will also be information about any relevant compliance changes that could impact your business, and how to update your software to ensure compliance.

As mentioned last week, we also understand that sometimes during busy periods it has taken too long to get the assistance you need. That’s why we are currently adding many more team members. We’ve already had a large group of new support staff hit the phones, and another big group of eager new recruits have started their training.

It’s been another busy week on the Community Forum, with 670 posts in the past seven days, including 215 from MYOB staff. We also happily welcomed another 275 to the community.

Our top contributors this week were Nic-acc-addons, jenniek,  ronatbas, Mike_James and  Geoff_. Many thanks for all your invaluable assistance to our community members. And a special thanks to those contributors who had multiple posts marked as Accepted Solutions this week, including David_Cree and ronatbas.

Love your work,
