Sorry to hear about this. Can you please confirm if you get any error messages ? If you do, can you attach a screenshot.
Also please retrieve the diagnostic log of the AccountRight file after this has happened and attach it as a .TXT file to this thread so I can investigate this further.

the error I get is "DataInvalid" when I attempt to post to a sale or a bill.

the file you asked for doesn't exist, this also happens when running in a web browser, it started after the update
