Work offline

Before I move from Accountright to Business Lite I would like to know if I can work offline if necessary.

It is possible with Accountright, and I can even suspend my subscription and it will continue to work without Bank Feeds.

This is a good thing IMO.

Can Business Lite work offline?

    Hi SCan

As gavin12345 has mentioned. We could import all data from an import file to your AccountRight file but we could not use the exported report to do it. We also can't convert the old file itself to AccountRight. Since currently, there is no migration available to shift from Business Lite to AccountRight. Might I suggest going with the trial version of the application first then deciding if you want to migrate your file after?

    Cheers,

    Genreve

    Hi SCan

    Thanks for reaching out.

In AccountRight we could save our files either offline or online as there is a desktop application you could access it from. In Business Lite the file is saved in the cloud, the only way we could access a file from Business Lite is only via the Internet. There is no option for Business Lite to be worked on offline.

Let me know if you have any other questions about this. I'm happy to help.

    Cheers,

    Genreve.

    I see, thanks Genreve.

Will it be possible to easily export all the data if I cancel my subscription?

Also I contacted support directly about a week ago. How long should we expect to wait for replies from support?

I am currently looking at my various options for changing my accouunting system. I thought when it came to new sales, at least, that support would be more responsive. Either way reliable suppoort is probably my most important consideration when it comes to accounting software.

    Hi SCan

    Thank you for the response.

For exporting data from Business Lite, the app could easily export data via Excel or PDF. As for the support avenues, We have this Community Forum you could ask for help. Also, we have phone support and live chat for your preferences. Support times vary though depending on the issue and the number of tickets a certain support team is working on.

Let me know if you still have questions.

    Cheers,

    Genreve

    OK, thanks.

One more question. If I was to transfer my data (free service apparently) from Accountright to Business Lite and after a few months decide Business Lite is not for me, is the csv sufficient to bring all my data back into Accountirght easily?

    Hi SCan

What Genreve_S may have missed is in Business Lite, while you can export, the export options (that is what you can export) are limited.

Ensure you do a trial before committing to Business Lite - it is a cut price option and so is its functionality, processes, etc, everything is very different to using the AccountRight application. Service is likely similar - mostly poor quality and difficult to receive. MYOB are going through an extreme cost cutting exercise. This is just my opinion, read some forum posts from other users and make your own conclusions.

    Regards

    Gavin

Thanks Gavin, your opininion is very helpful. Corporate cost-cutting exercises are not great to see happening and could explain the difficulty in getting timely email support. And worrying regarding how it might be affecting the product.

    Thanks Genreve,

I don't find trials very helpful when I can't see how it works for my business, with setup and learning itself being an investment of time. The only advantage would be to find out how comfortable I am with the UI, but I don't expect I will start to have questions until I am using it in the real world, for which I would rather not have a support lag
