Business Verification

Hi,

We are now unable to email invoices directly from MYOB, even though we do not use any of MYOB's payment gateways. We find this quite absurd as the verification process is only to ensure security for the payment providers. We have not and will not be entering all the information required for verification for our own security reasons ... but we expect to be able to email invoices as normal as it is part of the standard MYOB service that we pay for. This IS NOT a security issue as saving a PDF and emailing the invoice is exactly the same ... but an unnecessary inconvenience.

Almost all of our customers are schools (govt and non-govt) who have their own verification processes in place for suppliers to protect them from scams ... such as EFTSure. In fact they require invoices to be attached as PDFs and not as links.

Hopefully this will be updated asap as it is totally unnecessary to restrict this feature.

Absolutely agree with the above. We don't use payment services and email to large organisations internationally. This is going to be a huge problem for our business. Also, I don't know why, once verified, you have to disable payment services. It should be a given that they stay the same. Who wants to be inadvertently sucked into paying fees they don't need to. This is a terrible decision by MYOB to make this mandatory and take away functionality. Everyone is concerned about personal data nowadays.

This isn't good enough Sai ... we meet the very strictest of requirements for our customers by verifying with EFTSure and others. Emailing an invoice without any payment links should not require any further verification with MYOB ... and you are asking for additional confidential information for no reason. Please explain how this in any way compromises the integrity of the invoice ... it is NOT requesting payment via MYOB, purely an email service. Your payment gateway has always been an optional service ... and verification for that is fine. But we should NOT be penalised for using a mail service. Hugely frustrating as it now takes multiple steps to send the few invoices that need follow up. Most of our invoices are emailed directly from Datapel which is linked to MYOB.

Not at all happy with this ... and we explained all this when the request came through, expecting NO CHANGE to standard email of invoices!

Hopefully MYOB will take this issue seriously. We are able to send out statements via email without issues, but if a customer wants a copy of an invoice we have to do it manually via an email client.
As we use MYOB and Datapel ... where normally invoices are emailed directly from Datapel ... it may now be a good time to review the use of MYOB to something that has both accounting and warehouse management in one. Obviously we won't be looking at an enterprise version of MYOB. Very sad after more than 30 years of using MYOB.

This is the issue. Why???? Makes no sense if payment services are not activated and a HUGE inconvenience.

Please get this sorted out. I cannot understand why you would reduce functionality to add an option that is not wanted. And it has nothing to do with security if payment services are not activated.

Just gathering more personal information if you are not using their payment gateway you should not have to provide it. I have received numerous calls from myob - the last one quite aggressive about why I should give my sensitive company and personal data also telling me that I waste alot of time by not using some other features which I specifically don't so they don't have access to everything. They need to rethink what they are doing .

Once verified, you can access enhanced security features, protecting your business and clients. If you prefer not to use online payment services, our settings allow flexibility to disable them post-verification and continue receiving payments via direct bank transfer.

However, opting out of the upgrade will disable invoice sharing features (email, copy link, or SMS) from the platform. You can still download invoice PDFs and send them via external tools like Outlook or Gmail.

Business verification is required for a secure end-to-end invoicing experience.

Please clarify what you mean by download the invoice and send through as a PDF via Outlook?

Do you mean print as a PDF and then attached to an email to send? Also will this affect payslip's and other documents that get emailed through the system?

As it stands now when we record a invoice it automatically goes to an email and we send that way. is this the feature that no longer will be available to utilise?

Yes, "download the invoice as a PDF" typically refers to saving an invoice as a PDF file. Once saved, you can manually attach this file to an email using services like Outlook or Gmail to send it to your customers. Additionally, features such as sending payslips will remain unaffected.
