Update on Accountright 2022.8.0 emails not sending from outlook

Account Right requested an update to 2022.8.0. Since this happened no-one in our office can email invoices from sales or email in general from MYOB to outlook. Please sort out as I cannot email invoices to customer now from outlook. Before the update I could do this and did not have a problem.

 

Have rebooted my computer and still the problem continues.

    I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this. We haven't received reports of email issues with the 2022.8 release and I have just tested this in my software and was able to successfully send emails using Outlook.

     

    So that I can assist with your issue can you please tell me what happens when you try to send emails? If you're getting an error please provide a screenshot.

     

    The Help Article, Email troubleshooting, has general information that may help resolve this.

    Thanks for those screenshots. The error log is showing an interop error. Generally the error means, when a program such as AccountRight asks which version of Outlook is installed, the wrong version is being reported back, causing a communication problem and errors between the programs.

    This can happen when different versions of Office/Outlook may have been previously installed on the computer, and components/values are left behind.

     

    Most interop errors are fixed by one of the following:

    A. Quick Repair office. (any missing files should be added back)
    B. Re-Register Outlook DLL files and Check/Fix Registry Keys (there are 3 to complete)

     

    As this is an environmental issue we do recommend seeking assistance from an IT professional.

    Hi Tracy

     

    Afraid your response about outlook was all wrong.

     

    I rang MYOB themselves and it is indeed as I thought it was your latest update that caused the problem with sending invoices from the sales area. 

     

    Have to wait until MYOB send another patch repair through.

     

    Could you please check your information before you send me on a goose chase and spend money on I.T. that is not needed. We won't get the money or time back on something that was in fact the latest MYOB update that cause the problem.

     

    In future I will be phoning MYOB themseves instead of using the forum and getting incorrect answers.

     

    So the form did not solve my problem but MYOB phone call did.

    Hi rollers1 

     

    There was an issue in 2022.7 with emails being sent directly from AccountRight if there was an apostrophe in the email address, this was resolved in 2022.8. As you are using 2022.8 and emailing through Outlook this issue does not apply to your situation.

     

    There is no issue with emailing invoices using Outlook in 2022.8, as such, no patch fix is being released. I have confirmed this with the Development team.

     

    Your error log is showing an interop error "Unable to cast COM object of type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.ApplicationClass", which indicates this is an Outlook error. Googling the error I found this post on the Microsoft forum which advises checking the register, resinstalling Outlook or repairing Outlook: Unable to cast COM object of type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.ApplicationClass

    Hi, exact same issue here.  Have wasted many hours trying to resolve.  Issues since 2022.8, but I wonder if may also be related to the most recent Windows (forced) update.  Driving me crazy, so frustrating not being able to email invoices.  (Desktop version of 2022.8).  MYOB please advise resolution or workaround.  From my phone calls  to MYOB last week this is a common issue.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling MYOB as advised but made no difference.  I tried uninstalling latest Windows update but restarting computer Windows simply reinstalled it... :-(

    MYOB developers - perhaps a quick solution may be releasing a new version/patch where desktop users are premitted to send emails via MYOB directly, as that works for my online version.  (Both online and desktop versions worked fine sending invoices via Outlook until last week with 2022.8 and Windows updates).
