Overpayment of superannuation
One of my clients has paid a superannuation payment twice via MYOB superannuation. Normally MYOB wouldn't allow this to happen but I think there were so many reversals and reprocessing of the super that is why it went through. Unfortunately 2 employees have left part way through a quarter therefore they have overall been overpaid superannuation.
Has anyone been able to retrieve a superannuation payment once it has been paid to the super fund in error?
Yes I have written to super funds before to say super has been overpaid and they have refunded it (by cheque). Can't hurt to try and it's not like they are doing anything wrong - just made a mistake.
