AccountRight V19.16 Plus

Help please!  I can not open any of my data files that I still use the desktop app of AccountRight V19.16 Plus.  It keeps coming up "initialisation error".  I have spent 3 hours now searching for a solution.

I have uninstalled the program and then reinstalled it by scrolling waaaay down the updates within my account (last full install was 2019). 

Today I can not open any of the data files that I use this version of MYOB for - it was fine last week.

Has something changed?

I would so greatly appreciate all of your help as these files are very important!  Thank you!

    I know it's old software (I have been using it since 2002). 

    Administrator doesn't work and the compatibility troubleshooter just sends me round in circles.  I don't seem to be able to actually select MYOB Accountright and make it compatible like Windows 10 did.

    As I say, Windows 11 is awful, but it's core functionality is still the same basis as 10, 8, 7 XP etc.

    The weird thing is that it actually worked for the first few days then the error came up.

    AccountRight v19 was designed for older operating systems, so it can sometimes struggle with Windows 11. Since you've already tried reinstalling, a couple of things might still help, like running the program as an administrator or adjusting compatibility settings.

  • Doesn't work with Windows 11.

    My files worked for the first three days after I was forced to buy a new laptop, which came with the hideous Windows 11.  Then suddenly yesterday I got the "initialisation error" and cannot open any files.

    Reinstalled MYOB Accountright V19.7 after completely removing all associated files in the computer.

    Still no joy.

    The sysdm.cpl fix suggested doesn't work.
