Creating a Testing File

Hi I am sure this has been asked but need a bit more guidance.

I am about to use a 3rd party software to work in conjunction with MYOB.

I know it works well with MYOB (friends are using it at the moment) but want to test it with my system and work out the kinks

So what i have done is,

1. Created a back up file
2. Signed up login with a new AccountRight Plus 3momth subscription (to dummy test it online)

3. I have logged in and restored the file offline (library)

4. I try to upload it, however it states the serial no. change is required. (but you can't change the serial no. as it is blanked out in the Help Menu)

If i try upload it using the restore file online at the front screen, it states i don't have authorization on this account.

Say i do manage to remove the serial no. on the file will this solve the problem?

Also, will this affect my original/live file that the business(i.e not my dummy account) is using?

Cheers

    Hi Winho,

It looks like the issue is happening because the file is still linked to the original serial number, which is why you're getting the authorisation error. To fix this, you'll need to contact our live chat support through our virtual assistant MOCA or submit a case via MyAccount. They'll be able to process it for you and guide you on the next steps.

Just a heads up, removing the serial number will affect your original file. If you're testing with a dummy account, it's best to create a brand-new file instead of using a backup from your main business.

    Regards,

    Sai
