Hard close each month-end

Is it possible to affect a hard close each month end so that users are not able to process entries into previously closed periods within the current financial year?

  • Hi LearnerAtMYOB

Setup > Preferences > Security > Lock Period

Setting a date prevents entries before that date. Users should not be allowed to change this preference.

    Hi LDOG,

It's definitely not ideal when the Lock Period keeps getting opened, especially when you've set it for a reason. The good news is you can prevent staff from accessing the Security tab and changing this setting.

To do this, go to Manage Roles > General tab and change the preferences option to Read Only for staff who don't need to edit it. This will stop them from making changes to the Lock Period. Manage users has detailed information to help you with this.

    Regards,

    Hi Sai

How do I prevent staff accessing the Security tab under Preferences - I am forever going into there and finding the Lock Period OPEN - its darn frustrating to be honest.   I want myself to be the only person who can choose to enter stuff into a previous period.

    Thankyou
