From MYOB AccountRight version 2026.5 (PC edition), your clients will no longer be able to open, edit or save files stored locally (in My Library or Network Library). This change will take place from 17 June 2026.

To continue to access AccountRight, you’ll need an active MYOB AccountRight subscription and your company file will need to be online.

Hi Amanda, 

I am yet again listening to torturous repeat music whilst waiting for MYOB to discuss plans. With a wait time of over 2hrs , I have tried several times for over 1hr but trying to run a business and wait for MYOB (in their business hours) is not practical! I am hoping you can help? I have 1 x MYOB Lite (which I do no like) and 1 x Online Accountright Plus with 4 small off line Accountright business's. These are currently 2026.4 versions that I do not want to move online. But will need to access to finish EOFY and to comply with keeping books for 5yrs (non have payroll).  From you above comment I believe I can keep using these files offline as long as I can keep them from updating to the 2026.5 version is that correct? and how do I stop automatic updates? 

Also if I move one of the offline to a Solo plan will it tranfer all the basic information including outstanding invoices and customer / purchaser contacts? 

If I downsize from Accountright plus to cover the cost of addition online accounts to Pro will all the information automatically transfer over?

 

Thank you for your time , as myself and many other users very stressfully try to understand this.

    The easiest way to stop the update if you only have one version, is to use Random_nuggets suggestion as follows:

     

    If you use AccountRight desktop (PC) edition, a couple of methods are available. One method, described in this post involves copying the entire AccountRight software folder to a new location and then changing the MYOB desktop shortcut.

     A simpler, more surgical method is as follows:

    1. a) Open the folder in which MYOB is installed. Typically this will be in:

    C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local\Programs\MYOB\AccountRight

    1. b) Inside that folder you will find a program file named Update.exe. Simply rename this program file to, say, "Update-disabled.exe". Voila! No more updates!. When AccountRight is next started, it will fail to find its auto-update program, and then carry on running the software as is.

     I have successfully tested this approach since the AR 2026.3 release (PC edition).
