Export Reports to Excel

We are not able to export reports to Excel. Is this a hitch or specific to users of Microsoft 365 etcv

Thanks

  • Hi DL111 , the OfficeLink driver provides the connection, and is 32-bit. It's a legacy component as far as I know, but others may have more info.

Hi DL111 , if you are asked for a diagnostic log, always run the process at issue first, then copy the log, so that the error/issue is picked up in the log.

In this case we do not need the log to identify the problem. From the first jpg, your Excel version is (now) 64-bit, so it will not work with AccountRight, which can only connect to the 32-bit version. You should discuss this with your IT support.

Hi DL111, first thing, is your Office installation 32-bit? 64-bit will not work. Look under options for the About... menu, this will tell you which version.

If your export to Excel has worked in the past, have you upgraded Office recently?

If this is not yet resolved, please attach the diagnostic log created immediately after attempting the operation.

    Hi Mike_James

Thanks for tne reply. It is happening on a 64 bit computer however until recently this has not been a problem. No upgrades in Microsft Office 365. There have also been numerous posts in FB where people appear to be experiencing the same problem.

A diagnostic report is not produced. The system simply hangs despite it not being a large report.

    Thanks

Hi DL111 , the 64-bit OS is not what I was after, which is the Office 365 program itself, is it 32 or 64 bit? (Open Excel, go to File, Account, About Excel, and read off the end of the 1st line.

The link in my previous post advises how to find the location of the diagnostic log file, which is created in the background. Since the process used to work, the answer may lie in this file.

    Hi Mike_James

Thank you so much for your response :-)

    Details are as follows :

     Microsoft Excel  -  Jpg Attached

Diagnositic Tools - JPeg Attached. Hower this is from today. The problem arose on the 11/4

Hopefully that is the info you require :-)

Thank you for your kind responses.

Out of interest.. why do MYOB exports not work with a 64-bit Microsoft Office (which is the most up to date version). Surley, I am the only one impacted by this?

    Thank you

Hi, I'm having the same issue.  Thought it was a bug when I upgraded MYOB to 2022.4.  I'm not sure I understand the solution above.  Can you please explain to me how I fix this problem.  My Excel is 64bit.

    Hi CassV

Thanks for your post. AccountRight is only compatible with Microsoft Office 2010 or later (32 bit), information on this is available on our system requirements page

To export to excel you would need to be on that version of Microsoft office.
