MYOB inventory has faults - without doubt but it bends to be able handle a lot of odd ball situations.

I have been using MYOB since 1998 as well as being a partner since then - I know the inventory system and a lot of tricks.

I am also an MYOB API developer integrating many web carts to the MYOB inventory system.

The inventory system is not the most elegant but it works.

Thanks for explaining your setup, it does sound a bit more advanced than a standard single-item inventory workflow.

Build Items / Auto-Build could be a good fit if your pool packages are made up of standard component items. That said, whether it’s practical will really depend on how your packages are set up and how much variation there is between them.

A practical way to approach it would be to set up each standard pool package as its own built item, add the component parts and quantities against it, and test one package first before rolling it out across the rest of your range.

If you’ve already got an accountant or bookkeeper, and your file’s online, you can invite them in as an advisor to help with the setup. Normally the support team would be a great avenue for help, but wait times are a bit longer than usual at the moment, so it’d be best to work with a local accountant or bookkeeper who knows MYOB instead.

Hi The Doc,

I am actually AOK with the inventory system in MYOB.  it actually works very nicely.  i have been using MYOB and all its versions for about 35 years - I should have learned it by now.

thank you for reaching out though.

there are many other issues that require fixing especially in the MYOB for business online version.  I have to use AR for inventory as the online version is not as good as AR.
