1% Medicare levy surcharge

Question

I need to set up a new employee who has requested an additional 1% Medicare levy surcharge to their weekly pay. I can not see how to choose extra tax with a % value only a $ value. Their&nbsp; pay varies every week due to hours worked so I can't work out an average amount for the year. Appreciate any help on how to do this.

To handle your employee’s extra 1%, you'll need to manually calculate that amount each pay run, then pop it straight into the PAYG Withholding field before you record the pay. This keeps everything in the right spot for reporting and gives you flexibility when the weekly hours jump around.
