Setup: Indicating required fields

As a new user of MYOB, it'd be great to have a helper interface that notes fields that are not required to be filled out marked in some way. For example they could be outline in a different colour or have an icon next to them. This interface could then be turned off for advanced users. I'd expect having the default as not highlighting the optional fields.


Also in this helper interface, each field could have a tooltip which briefly explains what the field is for and a link for more info which opens in a new window.

    Required fields within MYOB Essentials will be indicated with an asterick mark. Also, hovering over the field name will indicate that it is a required field.


    Note: This change is available for the new MYOB Essentials platform. Existing (original) MYOB Essentials platform users will be migrated across to the new platform in due course based on the complexity of their MYOB Essentials product level. At the time of posting, migrations are already underway.

  • @roaringskyshark, that's not a silly idea either! It would take a bit of programming at MYOB to create an entire site overlay with tooltips and such, but all it would need once done is a checkbox in 'My Account' for 'Show Help Tips'. Possibly 20-odd hours of coding work, so would need several votes to make it worthwhile.
