Setting up bank account for electronic payments

I am setting up a HSBC bank account for processing wages electronically.  Could someone please confirm that in the Direct Entry User ID you can enter any 6 digits as longs as none of the digits are repeated eg: 123456 not 122456 or do I need to source a code form the bank?. In the Bank Code which only allows for 3 letters is it ok to enter HSB leaving the C out or does the bank have a different coding for MYOB?

Thank you for any assisatance, it will be very much appreciated.

Kind regards

Re: Setting up bank account for electronic payments

Hi @bcd1

The Direct User ID is a value that is provided by the bank and would be a unique series of numbers. If this is not known at the business then do speak to the Bank to obtain that number.

In terms of the Bank code, typically that is the three-digit character combination that denotes that bank. If you are unsure of that value then you need to refer to your bank's documentation.

Kind regards,
Steven
