bank reconciliation glitch

I use myob Accounting's premier latest version and for the first time ever when i hit 'reconcile' in the bank rec window i get a message that my bank thinks i have less than myob shows whereas in fact it reconciles perfectly. This has to be a glitch??

Hi JOhn,

 

Maybe not a glitch.

 

Did you possibly enter a negative amount as the balance (or Visa versa)?

Hi @BellaCorp

 

When you go to Banking>>Reconcile Accounts>>Select the particular account and date>>Enter in the Closing Statement Balance, is the Calculated Statement Balance the same value as that Closing Balance? Is it showing an Out of Balance value?

Also would you mind confirming what version of the program you are using? This can be checked via Help>>About AccountRight.

Hi.  We are using Premier 19.7.

I actually solved this myself by entereing the bank balance as per MYOB's calculations then reconciling. But... the bank balance I entered was incorrect so i did an 'undo reconciliation' then redid the rec again with the right bank balance and it worked perfectly.  I cleared the exact same transactions as last time so I know this was as MYOB glitch.  Please note though that this was the first time I used the 'get statement' option so obviously this is where the glitch lies.

 

Hopefully it doesn't happen again.
