Clear Company Data

Hi Team,

 

I would like to clear my company data on myob is there a way I can do this.

Hi @JuniorVemz 

 

AccountRight doesn't open a bulk deletion option within a company file that allows for all the data in that file to be cleared. If you have made a mistake you could look at deleting the relevant transaction(s) and/or records by opening the record and going Edit>>Delete. 

 

Alternatively, you could look at starting a new company file via the File>>New or New Company File option from the Welcome window. Note: If you have activated the first company file that file may need to be deactivated by MYOB to allow for that new file to be activated.

I can't delete aas it shows and account is been link and also an non zero balance cannot be deleted.

Hi @JuniorVemz 

 

That message typically means that there is:

  • A transaction associated with that account - run the Account Transactions [Accrual] report for that account for an extended date range. Transactions for that account would need to be deleted.
  •  The account has been set up as a linked account - i.e. the account is linked as an option under Setup>>Linked Accounts. Another account would be required to be set up for that linked account option
  • The Account has a balance, this should be removed by deleting those transactions. However, if the account has an opening balance then it would need to be removed as well.

Once those points have been addressed you will be able to delete that account.

Hi @JuniorVemz 

 

Do a google or bing search on something like 'new myox file based on existing' - this is a service provided by a 3rd party and saves on the whole process of creating a new file.
