Combining accounts from expense and cost of sales

Hello,

Is there a way to combine accounts from expense to newly created accounts in cost of sales? I would prefer to simply change the account type however the account type is greyed-out so I can't, and MYOB won't let me combine accounts from two different areas. I am using AccountRight 2019.2

Re: Combining accounts from expense and cost of sales

Hi @GillB

Once an account is created the account type is locked and changes are not able to be made to it. You mentioned the combine account feature, this allows you to combine accounts of the same type i.e. expense with expense, income with income...

Depending on the purpose, you could look at inactivating that incorrectly set up account and creating the new account (if you haven't already done so). Once those accounts are created you could look at doing a journal entry from the "old" account to the "new" account to transfer the current balance across. You can then look at inactivating the incorrect account should you require.

Kind regards,
Steven
