Custom field headings not updating in reports

Software: AccountRight Plus AU 2017.2.0.

I am trying to produce a customised report showing start dates, end dates and ACN/registration number details for our customers.  I have gone into Lists, Custom Lists & Field Names, Customers to update the field names - I was not sure if I should update the 'Name of Custom List' or 'Name of Custom Field' boxes, so I did both to be sure (see attachment 1).  The fields updated okay in the Customer 'Card Details' tab - so far so good!

However, when I create a test 'Card List (Detail)' report and include the custom fields in that report, the field headings still show as Custom List No. 1, 2 and 3 rather than Start Date, End Date and ACN/Reg. No. (see attachment 2).

Is this a system glitch or is there something extra that I need to do?

Thanks!

Alison

Re: Custom field headings not updating in reports

Hi @alisoncplatt,

Setting up the custom lists and fields via Lists > Custom Lists & Field Names doesn't actually change the names in reports. The names entered in this section will only change them in the Card Details tab of the card files so that you can see what each custom list / field corresponds to when entering in information into your card files.

Warm Regards,

Tallie

Re: Custom field headings not updating in reports

Hi Tallie

Thanks for letting me know - that's a shame.  I was hoping to create a customised report using these fields to send our member details to ASIC but if they don't understand what the fields mean, then I will have to create a manual report instead.

Regards, Alison

Re: Custom field headings not updating in reports

I just started a new custom report from scratch and it changed the headings to my new custom list headings
