Help!!! Starting a new financial year but it did not complete properly.

Hi:

I am starting a new financial year process but I have this error message coming up which is " Starting a new financial year did not complete properly. This file cannot be used. Please restore your latest backup." I cannot access the file any more and I couldn't restore the file from the backup as I did have any updated backup for the past three month.

I saw the support team can fix the issue. Please help me, can I send the file to MYOB repair Team? Thank you for your time and support.

Jerry Xiong

Re: Help!!! Starting a new financial year but it did not complete properly.

Hi @JerryXiong89

Ideally, a backup of the company file should be completed prior to starting a new financial year. This is one of the reasons why the system does warn to take a backup prior to completing that task:

If the company file has not been backed up and you have encountered an error message after starting that year we can look at getting that file sent in for a data file investigation and potential repair. Note: These types of errors the file can be unrepairable, however, our team can assess that file.

More information on Data File Repair services can be found on data file repair services. We are happy to organise for that process to be started for you we would need to know the service you are after i.e. Standard or Premium, how many company files you are looking at getting repaired and the LAST FOUR digits of the product serial number.

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: Help!!! Starting a new financial year but it did not complete properly.

Hi Steve:

Thanks for replying the message.

So I just call the support team or what I should do?

They will come in to check or I will send the company file to repair?

Thanks

Re: Help!!! Starting a new financial year but it did not complete properly.

Hi @JerryXiong89

Generally speaking, we lodge a ticket with our team and they issue our instructions for getting the file uploaded to our FTP account. From there they will investigate and attempt a repair on that file. If those repairs are successful, they will upload a repaired copy of the file back to the FTP account and let you know it is available for collection.

Happy to start that process with you, however, just need to grab that information outlined in my previous post - the service you are after i.e. Standard or Premium, how many company files you are looking at getting repaired and the LAST FOUR digits of the product serial number.

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: Help!!! Starting a new financial year but it did not complete properly.

Hi @JerryXiong89

Thank you for confirming that information

I have started that process for you. You shortly receive an email with instructions for getting that company file sent in for that repair. All the information is contained in the email but do let us know if you have any further enquiries. I've also sent you out a quote for that service, with payment options at the bottom of that quote. Payment would be required prior to us releasing that file.

Kind regards,
Steven

Re: Help!!! Starting a new financial year but it did not complete properly.

Hi Steven:
This morning I upload the file to the MYOB Data Services Team.

And I receive the confirmation email said the file has been successfully uploaded.

Then is that meaning I just need to wait for their reply?

And how should I pay? give them my credit card number or when they fix and I can pay?

Or i need wait for receiving the invoice?

Thanks

Re: Help!!! Starting a new financial year but it did not complete properly.

Hello @JerryXiong89

I'm glad to hear that my colleague Steven was able to help you get that process started.  If the team have successfully received your file as you mentioned in your last post about your confirmation email then the team will be in touch regarding any next steps required if/when necessary.

You will be able to wait now for their next reply for any new information.

Cheers,
Andrew
